Emu Park, being almost on the Tropic of Capricorn, is ideally placed to avoid the misery of the cold, wet winters experienced on the south coast of Australia and the draining humidity of summer in the north. Being on the coast, extremes of temperature are moderated by that vast 'heat sink', the Pacific Ocean. As a consequence, many southern visitors come north for the winter, often booking several years in advance to ensure a site as this park becomes ever more popular. The table shows average maximum and minimum temperatures over the year as well as average rainfall.
